I write to you from the very center of the Rocky Mountains. To my left, a treacherous climb looms, to my right, certain death awaits. A moment ago I was impatient, anxious for arrival in civilization and the warm welcome of cell service, but I took a brief step back and checked my perspective, which was narrower than the road we’re currently traveling, and allowed myself to remember what a luxury it is to see the world from these winding passages.
